VISIT THOSE GREAT BOARDS

An interview with Norwegian
 Country Music Artist Arly Karlsen

Mr. Arly Karlsen….congratulations with  number one on ECMA  for the second week with “The Day I found You”. That`s a great achievement. Is this one of your songs or did you have someone to write it for you ?

“It’s written by Walter and Tracey Bottoms from Greensburg in Indiana (USA).
They came all the way down to Nashville to visit me in the studio when I recorded the song in April this year. They’re so enthusiastic about our cooperation, and so kind to me, and they are more become my friends. The song has got a lot of attentions in newspapers and radio stations in USA because of them.

They are working hard to promote, not only their song but, my music general! They are a wonderful couple! “

When you recorded this song, did you ever think it would take you to No 1 ?

Well, I’m always optimistic about making my music heard, but I didn’t really think It would be #1, but among the top 10.

You`ve been on Ecma chart before Mr. Karlsen. Not to many Norwegian artist`s have. How come ?
Is it a matter of choosing the right distribution channels for your music in addition to recording the right songs?  Now don’t get me wrong here. You certainly are a great artist but Norway has raised a few but they rarely appear on ecma chart.

"Well, it’s hard for me to say, but I think it’s about how do humans heart/mind react on a song!
How big part of that is the songwriter, the musicians, the studio, the producer, the singer, the distribution and so on? All have an influence of that more or less. A few years ago the Duet with me and Pat Roden “Please Don’t Stop Loving Me” was #1 six times in a row and my tribute song to Johnny Cash “Here’s to You (The Man in Black)” was #1 two times in a row too, so something is done right here!
But I’ll thank especially  Ross Allen at Hillcrest, and also Stuart Camron at HotDisk, for being the main reason for that the song are been heard all over the world."

Plans for the future Arly ? Do you have a new cd on it`s way ? How about any new exciting songwriters?

ARLY KARLSEN - HERE`S TO YOU
(THE MAN IN BLACK)

After releasing "Here`s To You" (The Man In Black) Arly made an impression on Johnny Cash`s brother Tommy. quote; " That song really made me proud". This was said by Tommy while guesting Jerry Mac`s radioshow. And Tommy should know Arly. Arly once sang a duet with Johnny`s little sister Joanne Cash Yates. This event took place at Nashville Cowboy Church and was broadcasted to millions of radiolisteners over USA and also on the internet.
Even Joanne have made the same statements about Arly`s tribute to Johnny " Brilliant" !

NO 1
NEW CD FROM ERNIE OLDFIELD " MY GUITAR AND ME"
Let there be said...."You can play me 1000 songs from 1000 different cd`s and I`ll be darned if I cant pinpoint every Ernie among them". With that distinctive characteristic it`s impossible not to. And that`s a good thing. The sound that this cd brings forward makes me wanna listen over and over again. A wonderful "crispy" clear bright sound. Very distinct. Love it. And again....here`s something for everyone. Does`nt matter if you got a "thingy" for rock`n roll or if your preference is straight country. You`got it right....it`s all here !

Some of Sandra’s music memoirs were established when in 1972 she was on the “Roy Wiggins Show,” and moved to Murfreesboro, TN to participate on the program. It was a live radio show, but hearing Sandra singing caught the attention of producer Johnny Dollar and together they released a 2- song vinyl record.
Sandra moved to Calabash, NC in 1997. While there she recorded 4 albums of Gospel music in Nashville, TN with GodsChild Records (John Rees) in which she was the songwriter for every song except for one that she did from the Statler Brothers songbook.

Sandra has made the charts from the USA and European charts as well via her single releases through compilations of various labels. Also Sandra attended Col. Buster Doss’s “Jamboree By The Lake,” and hasn’t stopped yet.
Her music career will continue as she is already writing new country gospel tunes and duets for future release and for new and upcoming artist looking for new materials.
Sandra is thankful for the gift of music God has given her and plans to use it to His glory.
